Join us in welcoming Ruby to the Bellevue LifeSpring family!

Meet Ruby, our new Human Services Administrator. Ruby will work with our team to ensure Bellevue families receive the compassionate support they deserve. Originally from Lynnwood—with roots tracing back to a small village in Michoacán, Mexico—Ruby earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington, majoring in Medical Anthropology and Global Health with a Minor in Diversity.

At UW, she gained valuable experience working as a preschool teacher, volunteering as a High School Mentor with Dream Project, and supporting immigrant communities through a Seattle non-profit. Following her undergraduate studies, Ruby served as a Family Resource Coordinator at Kindering, assisting families with young children facing developmental delays. Most recently, she earned her Master of Public Health from UCLA to further pursue her passion for Public Health and to make a meaningful impact in reducing health disparities.

Read along as Ruby shares a little about her journey and what inspired her to join the team.

Why is Bellevue LifeSpring’s mission meaningful to you?

Bellevue LifeSpring’s mission is meaningful to me because it tackles a very important social determinant of health. Through our work, we have the power to make a real difference in a child’s environment.

I have always been passionate about being involved and helping others. When I was younger, I didn’t quite understand what the non-profit sector was, but I did know there were places my family was able to get support in times of need, and that always called my attention.

What do you hope to achieve in your new role?

In my new role as Human Services Administrator, I hope to be at least a little grain of sand in supporting families to overcome their challenges. I am committed to connecting families with essential community resources, being a compassionate listener, and empowering them to take their next step.

What does community mean to you?

Community, to me, means a sense of shared connection and support. It’s about coming together as a group that listens, creates safe spaces, and truly understands each other’s needs.

What could we find you doing outside of work?

Outside of work, you can find me at the airport catching a flight to a new adventure, out in my community going on a run, trying to catch the next beautiful sunset, or gathering around the dining room table and sharing a meal with my family.

Thank you, Ruby, for sharing, and welcome to the team!
