Meet the Team: Lauren McGhee

Join us in warmly welcoming Lauren, one of our two new Partnership and Investment Officers! Lauren is joining our Development Team to help drive our mission forward by building and nurturing relationships with key partners and investors. This new role is essential in ensuring the sustainability and growth of our programs that provide stability and support for Bellevue children.

Lauren joins our team, bringing a wealth of experience and a personal connection to our community. “I am excited to be back working in Bellevue, where I grew up,” shares Lauren. An alumnus of the Bellevue School District, Lauren attended Phantom Lake Elementary School and Tillicum Middle School and graduated from Sammamish High School. After spending a couple of years at Bellevue College, she completed a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Social Sciences at the University of Washington.

“I have worked in several industries, from mental health to philanthropy to communications. The number one thing my roles have in common is that they were all centered around helping others,” shared Lauren. “I am passionate about proclaiming the power of human connection. When people talk to each other, they find out just how small the world actually is and how much we need each other to survive and thrive.”

Read along as Lauren shares what motivates her and what she hopes to achieve in her new role.

Why is the Bellevue LifeSpring mission meaningful to you?

Bellevue LifeSpring’s mission is meaningful to me because it addresses the basic yet absolutely critical needs of Bellevue’s children and their families. Time and time again, I’ve seen how providing these basic needs makes a huge, lasting impact on people’s lives. I’m excited to be a part of moving these resources where they are needed most.

What do you hope to achieve in your new role?

I am eager to build meaningful relationships with people who are passionate about supporting Bellevue children and families, and I hope to spread awareness about the opportunity Bellevue LifeSpring presents to do just that. Bellevue has great potential to be a healthy, thriving community for all, and I am excited to bring people along on the journey to achieving this.

What does community mean to you?

Community is made up of the people in your surroundings and those that surround you. It’s made up of neighbors and strangers, family, and friends. Those committed to helping others, nurturing our environments, and making safe, caring spaces for all to thrive.

When not at Bellevue LifeSpring, what could we find you doing?

You can find me at concerts, making floral arrangements, trying new restaurants (or eating at my favorites!), and laughing a lot! I love spending time with friends and family, going on walks with my husband, and learning about people and places around the world.

Thank you, Lauren, for sharing, and welcome to the team!
